POISONS and VENOMS


POISON - Poisons only takes affect if you are actually wounded by a weapon, armour damage doesnt count. Bare in mind that you can be poisoned through other means such as eating/drinking and environmental effects. Poisons are slow acting, taking a variable number of encounters to take effect. TOXIN RESISTANCE helps slow the onset of the poison.

VENOM - The more deadly version of poison. These take effect immediatly, which can mean life or death depending on the type. You will need either a REMOVE VENOM spell or an ANTI-TOXIN potion to counter act it, though there are other ways available. TOXIN RESISTANCE delays the venom for 30 seconds, after which you suffer the affect as per normal rules.

While these are usually used by assassins and such, nature has its own defense's and some spells replicate these effects too. The following effects that can be either poisons or venoms with the rules for each as well.


SLEEP: Your victim falls asleep for 1 minute. If struck or roughly shaken they will awaken but be groggy for a few seconds..

STANDARD POISONS - RANK 1 - 3
1: You lose 1 life-point every other encounter.
2: You lose 1 life-point every encounter.
3: You lose 2 life-points every encounter.

BLINDNESS: Your victim is blind for 3 minutes and for the next encounter they are SLOWED. CARE MUST BE TAKEN AROUND PEOPLE ROLEPLAYING THIS EFFECT.

WEAKNESS: Your victim loses all natural strength bonus's for the encounter. They may only called singles plus any bonus's from masterys, magical weapons and such.

MUTE: Your victim is unable to speak or shout for 1 minute, this includes all spell casting.

POWER DRAIN: The victim loses half their power points every encounter, rounded down. once at 0 the effect ends.

BERSERK RAGE: Your victim will attack every thing in the area for 20 seconds, even things on the ground if they believe them to be a threat. No sensible conversation is allowed as they go totally crazy.

FEIGN DEATH: The victim falls to the floor and radiates no life force until the end of the encounter, they are unable to move or speak whilst in this state. They are considered dead until the effect ends.

CRIPPLE: The victim goes weak at the knee’s and can only crawl around on the floor, they can still defend them self’s as normal. Lasts till the end of the encounter.

VENOM: The victim falls in to an unconscious state, they only have 1 minute to live.

BLEEDING: The victim starts to bleed at the rate of 1 hit point every minute until the location has reached 0 hit points. If a limb reaches 0 then the location next to it (Torso)starts to bleed as well. This ignores floating hits. This continues unless the bleeding is stopped.

FATAL: The victims location will drop to -4 instantly and begins to bleed as per normal rules.

PARALYSIS: The victim may do nothing other than breathe and stand completely immobile/rigid for 30 seconds. Yes...you can put them in funny postions.

PAIN: The LIVING victim is filled with an intense pain for thirty seconds. The victim may do nothing other than lie on the floor screaming and defend themselves. Ham acting is always appreciated.

Making these nasty things isnt easy or even safe, some of them require...bits from rather nasty creatures or plants difficult to find or even touch. Only those with the rights skill should attempt to play with these as more than a few have ended up dead or wishing they were. Some will pay well for these ingredients but dont expect them to be standing on the street corner asking for them. Prices vary depending on how rare the item or how bad people need it.

BLINDNESS: Snake Venom Sack.
WEAKNESS: Lizardman Blood.
MUTE: Breath Stealer. (Plant)
POWER DRAIN: Imp Fingers.
BERSERK RAGE: Blood Flower. (Plant)
FEIGN DEATH: Skeletal Champions skull
CRIPPLE: Infected Zombie teeth.
VENOM: Dryder Venom sack.
BLEEDING: Eldiwens Touch (Plant)
FATAL: Skull of a Shrieker able to call Fatal.
PARALYSIS: Ghoul Tongue.
PAIN: Razor Needles. (Plant)

Updated poisons and venoms with effects and ingredients for those less...honourable characters if they have the skills.
