Subdue damage is a bit like through damage in the way it ignores all armour except plate / full plate head armour. If you are wearing such armour then the attacker must first destroy it to subdue you. Magical armour such as plates or robes must also be removed to cause subdue damage. All subdue damage must be done with a blunt weapon
(No flat of blades or weapon pommels)

To subdue your target you must first strike it on the head and call what damage you are doing plus subdue. Your target then falls to the floor unconscious for a period of minutes depending on what damage was called, plus your target also loses the same amount of life point to match the damage called. After your target starts to come around and you wish to subdue it again then you must strike the target again but this time your victim will only lose one life point no matter the damage call, this time around your victim will stay unconscious for the damage done plus one more minute, so on and so forth etc.

The skill toughened skull will stop the first life point damage and halve the time spend unconscious to a minimum of one minute, you will still lose life points from further subdues but cut down your time knocked out by half.

Don’t forget that if you ever go below zero life points you are dead.
